Biometric Finger Vein Reader

The reader BIO-VEINZ uses a biometric scanner made by Hitachi that reads the veins of the finger to identify people.

Everybody has a unique vein pattern so there are no two people with the same disposition of the veins.

In the registering phase, the finger is illuminated from the sides by infrared lights. Then, an optic sensor registers the pictures and saves them in the hardware/computer/card depending on the configuration. Then, in its use as access control or presence, the reader compares the stored picture with the finger on the reader and validates (or not) access.

The technology provides many advantages:

  • Easy to register new users and uses less memory than other biometric systems.
  • High tolerance to skin problems: dirty, wounds, marks in the skin... can even read through latex gloves

The 'Finger Vein' technology makes the product an internal biometric system, meaning that:

  • It is very difficult to obtain vein pictures.
  • It is also very difficult to copy vein pictures.
