New drugs detection product launch at the IACP convention in San Diego, California.

Mistral Security is proud to introduce the Pen Test, for the identification and detection of illicit drugs. The Pen Test is a series of liquid ampoule tests, capable of not only identifying an illicit substance obtained by arrest or discovery, but these tests can detect trace amounts of an illicit substance even if the naked eye cannot see the residue.

Drug Screening Equipment

Pen Test provides a unique drug screening and confirmation capabilities. With just two General Screening Narcotic Pen Tests (MD-1/D4D and MD-2/C&H), one can detect all illicit drug types. If one is looking for a specific drug, or confirmation of a specific drug type is required, six additional Pen Tests can be used (tests for: cannabis, opiates, LSD, Methamphetamines, Amphetamines, cocaine/crack, and heroin). A seventh pen test for ephedrine will be released soon.

The new generation of ampoule tests, provides several critical advancements.

  • The tests do not require that a substance be placed into the Pen Test tube. Rather, one need only to crush the glass ampoule (or ampoules), without fear that the glass will protrude through the plastic and cut the finger, remove the cap, turn the ampoule upside down, and drop the liquid onto a test paper that is provided with each ampoule.
  • The liquid is not toxic and therefore requires no special procedures for disposal (important cost savings and environmental friendly).
  • The testing process is fast, easy, and very effective. Pen Tests come with instructions. For the two General Narcotic Screening Pen Tests, the instructions show the entire process including the use of confirming Pen Tests as required. Color guides/charts are included to make the process easy to use, quick and effective.

Pen Tests are even capable of identifying certain ‘cutting’ agents used with drugs such as quinine and diphenhydramine, as well as separately identify the secondary amines: methamphetamine, ephedrine psuedoephedrine, and Ketamine.
