Category: Documentation Systems | 27/04/2010 - 15:31:53

With installations now exceeding eight hundred machines, Security Foiling Limited have recently launched their first PC USB interface for the MicroPOISE™ machine.

The renowned security hologram applicator for security documents and plastic cards can now be integrated into the 'digital' environment.

Security Module

Auditable methods of creating authentic security documents are in high demand. Fraud perpetrated from the 'inside' by changing data or producing fraudulent documents is a consequence of a poorly controlled document issuing system.

The processes are often difficult to audit and the potential for organised fraud is high. Good physical security measures help in reducing the occurrences but organised internal fraud is difficult to trace and hard to defeat. Until now document issuing systems have relied upon one or two trusted key personnel to maintain a 'watch' on day-to-day document issuing.

SENTRYDocument Authentication - Point of Issue Application

Moving document authentication to ‘point of issue application' with the MicroPOISE™ further strengthens the barriers to a potential fraudster but with the addition of the PC control system it is possible to provide a fully auditable document issuing system that is easy to monitor remotely by senior personnel and creates a further visible deterrent without slowing down any existing processes or procedures.

Security Access Control

With 5 levels of security access control the new PC control package allows the document issuer to specify access passwords and security levels to users. The ability to record when a document is created along with a digital audit trail of who logged in is a major advantage over traditional hologram application systems which are either 'off-site' or controlled by a 'log book' which are themselves open to misuse or abuse. A further password protects the engineering settings ensuring that the machine can not be tampered with by unauthorised personnel.

Document Authentication SystemSENTRY Systems for MicroPOISE

MicroPOISE™ machines are shipped with a security control system called SENTRY. The machines on-board micro-processor recognises encrypted codes to control the number of impressions the machine will produce. Without the correct code the machine cannot be operated.

Widely acclaimed by present users in the high security sector, SENTRY provides added reassurance that a machine can only be used for its intended purpose with tractability.

Machine Set-up module

Automatic Document Feeders

An additional module is provided for setting up automatic feeding of paper sheets / automatic document feeders, continuous paper or plastic cards (where an automatic feeder is specified). Using the on-screen hologram positioning system (HPS) it is possible to specify exact stamping positions on the document or card, save them and reload them at a later date. Critical engineering machine settings can also be made 'on screen' without removing machine covers.

Hologram Print Settings

Adjusting hologram print quality can now be managed from the PC interface. The MicroPOISE™ has always been renowned for fast set-up and minimal maintenance so, at the click of the mouse you can now adjust applied pressure, dwell and foil advance length.
