Mistral Introduces The Newest Tool in the Anti-Terrorism Arsenal Its Peroxide Detection Kit

Mistral, a leading supplier of law enforcement and military security products and services, announced the release of: PDK - Peroxide Detection Kit, the newest tool in an anti-terrorism arsenal to catch criminals and suspect insurgents.

There has long been a recognized need for technology to reliably detect peroxide-based explosives including TATP (Triacetonetriperosixde) -- Peroxide-based explosives are powerful explosive substances that can be prepared from several over the counter materials.

This well-known explosive type is currently in use by terrorist groups. This explosive material is usually known by its abbreviation TATP (Tri Acetone Tri Peroxide). Mistral's new Peroxide Detection Kit (PDK) is able to detect newly improvised chlorate-based and peroxide based explosive compounds. One of the more deadly forms of peroxide-based compounds is TATP, used several times by terrorists worldwide. The PDK kit contains two bottles: the first (A) to identify / detect chlorate based residues and the second (B) to detect peroxide-based residues. Testing is done sequentially beginning with bottle reagent A and if there is no reaction, using bottle reagent B.

A positive reaction is a dark blue color reaction.
