PASS-MF and PASS-MFS Bring Mifare Applications Within Reach

ProxTech is proud to announce the launch of the low-budget PASS-MF and PASS-MFS Mifare card readers.

Very often it is seen that for some specific applications, RFID readers are selected purely because of their price. This results that mostly the selected RFID technology is not the ideal selection for that application, simply because it was not developed for that kind of applications or it brings no security at all.  Where for example, data should at least be written into a secured card sector, it is in stead freely available without any protection whatsoever or even not used, since e.g. a 125 kHz read-only technology was selected.

For many of those applications, Mifare could be a far better solution. But people seem reluctant to integrate that technology because of the higher investment needed for the readers.

To avoid these problems, ProxTech is proud to announce the launch of the low-budget PASS-MF and PASS-MFS Mifare card readers. These 13,56 MHz Mifare readers allow for either UID (PASS-MF) or secure sector reading (PASS-MFS), thus allowing the customer a more secure technology for its applications.

The PASS-MFS is a Mifare reader that is user-configurable to read data from a designated sector using a designated key. As this data cannot be copied from the Mifare card, it provides a secure card reader.

Security Card Readers

PASS-MFS card readers are supplied in a default factory state ( Wiegand 42 bit data output, UID read ) and are programmed using a configuration card. The configuration card is prepared using a dedicated Master Card Generator software and programmer. The configuration card specifies the sector and key that contain the card data. It also specifies the reader output format.

 A reader can be reconfigured at a future date to have a different sector / key, but only if the initial configuration permits this feature. In this way malevolent reconfiguration of the reader can be prevented.

User cards may be created using the User Card software and programmer. These user cards have then immediately the correct Mifare Key and Sector information for proper and secure functioning with the PASS-MFS card reader.

The reader has integrated tri-colour LED and buzzer, which are controlled externally.

These Mifare PASS-MF and PASS-MFS readers are offered at unbeatable prices. The PASS-MF is already available for 47 Euro/piece for an order of 10 pieces whereas the PASS-MFS can even be purchased for prices as low as 59 Euro/pce for the same quantity.
