High Sulfur Diesel vs. Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel
The International Armored Group tackle the issue of providing the Middle East, South ...
International Armored Group’s VR7 armored Toyota Landcruiser 200 Convoy® is the only vehicle in the world to have successfully passed the new VPAM BRV 2009 VR7 ballistic and blast testing standards, independently certified by Beschussamt Mellrichstadt, a world renowned and internationally recognized ballistics testing agency.
No other armored vehicles manufacturer in the world currently has this distinction, definitively showing that IAG is clearly the industry leader when it comes to producing the world’s best armored vehicles.
The new BRV 2009 VR7 ballistic protection standards vary greatly from the old BRV 1999 VR6/VR7 ballistic protection standards and the two standards are not the same. While both are tested against the same bullets (7.62 x 51mm and SS109 5.56 x 45mm), the new standard is far more comprehensive than the old one, summarized in the table below:

Since passing this test essentially certifies that the armored car is completely “bulletproof” (any penetration, whether partial or full, constitutes as failure), many steps are taken to find weaknesses in the design and amoring of the vehicle. Detailed cross sectional drawings are submitted to Beschussamt Mellrichstadt prior to the actual shooting of the vehicle.
In addition, the production process of the armored Landcruiser is closely observed and studied. If any area is assessed as a potential weakness, the test will place extra emphasis in shooting these particular areas from any angle in order to create a penetration.
After surviving well over 400 strategically planned shots, International Armored Group’s Landcruiser Convoy® experienced zero failure rate. As a result, International Armored Group is the only manufacturer in the world to be awarded and certified for passing the new VPAM BRV 2009 VR7 ballistic protection standard.
In addition to ballistic testing, the VR7 Toyota Landcruiser 200 Convoy® was subjected to a series of blast tests mimicking real life blast attacks. Since IED protection / blast protection is of critical importance, detailed measuring devices that record the shock forces experienced by occupants in the event of a blast were used during the blast testing procedure. The following explosives were used:
